Brayelin Martínez

The towering Brayelin Martinez has developed
into one of the most potent spikers in the world after seasoning her talents
playing in the junior ranks for the Dominican teams.


Martinez, who stands at 201 cm, will turn 21
next September but has already played at the 2014 FIVB World Championship in
Japan and the 2011 and 2015 FIVB World Cup.


Brayelin was named the most valuable player at
the U20 FIVB World Championship held in Puerto Rico in 2015 as she helped the
Dominican Republic to win the gold medal by scoring 27 and 32 points against
Italy and Brazil in the semifinal and final matches.


The same year, Martinez helped her country to a
bronze medal at the U23 World Championship in Turkey with a five-set victory
over Japan.


Brayelin has played in Italy for the last two
seasons winning a silver medal at the 2016-17 CEV Cup when her club Yamamay
Busto Arsizio lost to Rusian Dynamo Kazan in the finals.
